1 Thessalonians 5:17 instructs us to pray without ceasing but how do we accomplish this? 1. We acknowledge God in everything Prov 3:5-6 and allow Him to guide our steps. 2. We accept we are just stupid humans that need His will to be done and not our own (Matt 6:10) 3. We love Him. (Mark 12:30) Love Him w all of who we are and this allows us to tap into that spiritual realm where we want His will and we ask for it.
Sounds simple enough, huh? It does but the trust issue comes up with many and you can trust Him. He is the Great I Am. You can practice this from knowing He was also your great I Was and He is also the Great I Will! He is faithful !
I am someone that has had severe trust issues but the one thing I know is I can trust God. Prayer is our biggest weapon and our communication with God. Let it be how you fight your battles!
Praise Him first so your prayers never get trapped. I went over this during the Summer of 2019 on Facebook… we see Jesus praise Him when He taught us to pray. (Hallowed be thy name). God doesn’t need an ego boost or our praise but we need to thank Him. What if you only woke up with what you thanked Him for today on tomorrow. Make it a habit to praise Him. Follow this example if you’re just learning to pray. To pray effectively we must shut up and hear Him! The Lord’s Prayer is powerful – learn it and use it all the days of your life.
Our Father in Heaven. Hallowed be Your name. (Praise Him for what He has done for you here) Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. (The angels are doing His Will and we need to as well. We were created to worship Him. Seek His Will for your life in this portion of the prayer) Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us of our debts, trespasses and transgressions as we forgive those that have sinned against us. (Let nothing of this world harden your heart) lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. (Warfare can’t get intense and we all need delivered from Satan) For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever- Amen.
