Matthew 5:22 NLT But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Word curses yall! Word curses!

Calling people names! Telling things like “nobody will love you like I do,” “you’ll never have it as good as you do with me.” “You’ll never amount to anything” “you’re better off dead” “you’re not as good as __”
These are a few examples, you get the point. Calling someone names puts you in danger not them! Why you wanna do that?

The power of life and death are in your tongue. And those that love it will eat its fruit. You’re either speaking curses or life. You pick and if you’re spitting curses you’re gonna see cursed fruit in your life. We reap what we sow. Proverbs 18:21 (Melissa breakdown 🤷‍♀️. I want y’all to catch this part more than anything bc we literally curse ourselves)

James 3:9-10 ESV With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

We have all done it but the best news ever is Jesus died on the cross and became the curse. He came so we could live life more abundantly.

Just as prayers, spoken or unspoken over the people we judge, are effective. Curses form in our hearts, not in our mouths.

Matthew 15:18–19 ESV … For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.

Ecclesiastes 10:20 AKJV Curse not the king, no not in your thought; and curse not the rich in your bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which has wings shall tell the matter.

Coming into agreement w stuff … oh y’all! Unintended curses.
Luke 8:15 ESV As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

Psalm 146:3 NLT Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.

If you don’t believe God can and will heal you or that you’re worthy of it you’re not going to maintain healing no matter who prays over you! This is an unintended curse. We have been ignorant! And because of our limited belief system in God and our trust being in man we stay in sickness.

On objects-

Deuteronomy 7:26 ESV And you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house and become devoted to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest and abhor it, for it is devoted to destruction.

Deuteronomy 11:29 NLT “When the LORD your God brings you into the land and helps you take possession of it, you must pronounce the blessing at Mount Gerizim and the curse at Mount Ebal.

WHAT RESULTS FROM CURSES?

1. Cursing anyone, including ourselves

Psalm 109:17 ESV He loved to curse; let curses come upon him! He did not delight in blessing; may it be far from him!

2. Cursing our parents

Leviticus 20:9 ESV For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.

3. Cursing God

Leviticus 24:15-16 NIV Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible; anyone who blasphemes the name of the Lord is to be put to death…

4. Cursing the country, Israel

Numbers 24:9 NLT … Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you.”

5. Being a target of someone’s murderous hatred*

1 John 3:15 ESV Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

• Curses form in the heart. When someone hates another person, he or she will wish misfortune on the other person.

A curse brings spiritual death. It opens the door to Satan to rob us of our spiritual rights as God’s children to enjoy God’s abundant life, including love, joy, peace, health, providence, protection and more. To be free of curses, we must humbly confess and repent of our sins in Jesus’ name, so that we can receive healing and restoration from God.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Let’s pray all of this away.

Daddy, in the mighty name of Jesus we come before you boldly asking for grace in a time of need. We know you have heard us. Lord, we humbly ask for your forgiveness with pure heart. We have been ignorant and we praise You for teaching us. We thank You for loving us and for Your forgiveness. Your sweet forgiveness! We bind our tongues and our fingers where nothing comes out of us that doesn’t bring glory to you! We retract all idle words. We come out of agreement with any and all lies spoken over us and any bad doctor reports. It is written in Your Word that we are healed by His stripes and we believe You! Holy Spirit rise up in all that need healing and enlarge their territory to receive. Lord, we renounce and rebuke any curses we have spoken over ourselves and over others. We revoke all rights of any curse over any area of our lives. We claim victory for it is written that Jesus became the curse so we would never have to live under it. We praise You for the blood of Yeshua 🙌 and we plead the blood over each area of our lives any curse was holding us hostage and it is now broken in the matchless name of Jesus. Cover us in Your wings. Lord, bless anyone that has put a word curse on us. We ask you to bless them, keep them, show them Your peace and shine Your countenance upon them. Wrap a hedge around them and put them in alignment! Amen
