What is the Changing of the Guard?
The Changing of the Guard is the official ceremony where the Foot Guards currently guarding the monarch (the Old Guard) are released from duty, to be replaced with new soldiers (the New Guard).

I’ve heard favor and changing of the guard this morning. We are getting a new life starting today! It is finished!

It is a ceremony whereby the Old Guard leave St James’s Palace, the most senior royal palace in the UK, to relieve the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
